EXHIBITION

 

This summer EX by Art D’Egypte partners with Mazeej Hotel as one of their initiatives to fill our surroundings and lives with art, and allow us to interact with art on a daily basis. 

EX by Art D’Égypte is an experiential sub-brand of Art D’Egypte created for the purpose of making art accessible to a more youthful audience, hosting pop-up exhibitions, and exploring cultural activations of new forms.

Mazeej will be hosting a series of consecutive solo exhibitions organized by EX, presenting to the locals of the north coast, hacienda and the visitors of Mazeej a rich and diverse selection of art pieces. The hotel’s lobby is also occupied by a long-term collection of playful pieces starting June 28th.

Mohsen Abdel Fattah

Alexandrian artist Mohsen Abdel Fattah has been active in the Egyptian contemporary art scene since the early nineties. He is fond of painting people, and often his subjects are harmonious with the backgrounds of his paintings. His work has been acquired by collectors and institutions in Egypt and abroad, including the Majdanek State Museum in Poland, among others.

Mohamed Abo El Magd

The Egyptian Sculptor Mohamed Abo El Magd was born in 1971. Abo El Magd studied sculpture in Atelier D’Alexandrie and was inspired by his mentor Esmat Dawestashi with whom he was working as his assistant. He was awarded the Grand Prize at the National Salon of Youth in 2001, participated in numerous youth salons, exhibited in Egyptian Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and many other exhibitions in Egypt. Abo El Magd currently lives and works in Egypt.

TAHA NASR

Taha Nasr has taken part in several local exhibitions some of them are Port Said Biennale, Culture Palace Exhibition of the Artistic Creativity of Alexandria 4 in the Russian Center and Cairo Youth Salon. Nasr currently lives in Alexandria and is a professor at the college of fine arts in Alexandria University.

Sarkis Tossoonian

Sarkis Tossoonian is a sculptor born in Alexandria in 1953. He graduated from Alexandria Faculty of Fine Arts (sculpture) in 1979 and is a member of the Plastic Artists’ Syndicate and the Atelier d’Alexandrie in Egypt. He has held 16 personal exhibitions in both Alexandria and Cairo and has participated in over 150 local and international group exhibitions. He won the first prize for sculpture from the 7th Port Said National Biennale in 2005. His pieces are exhibited at the Horreya Garden, Cairo; the Museum of Egyptian Modern Art, Cairo; the Aswan International Open-air Sculpture Museum; the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria and in a number of private collections in Egypt, Cyprus and Canada.

Hany El-Sayed

Hany El-Sayed Ahmed was born in 1972 in Alexandria where he still lives and works. He has a BA degree in Art Education from Alexandria University. He has studied art at the Atelier of Alexandria and is a member of the Syndicate of Plastic Artists, Alexandria. He is also a member of the Group of Artists and Writers of the Atelier of Alexandria and a member of the Society of Artists of Alghoury. He is on the Board of Directors of the Atelier of Alexandria.

 

Khaled Abdo

Khaled Abdo is a visual artist, graduated from Faculty of Fine
arts - Sculpture department - Alexandria University in 2012, he participated in different art events and exhibitions in Egypt, his art collections is owned by individuals , companies in Egypt, UAE and USA.


In addition, He worked as an organizer in ‘’Arts in the
Classroom’’ project co-funded by the European Union and Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a visual arts exhibitions coordinator in bibliotheca Alexandrina. He also has his work as a writer and theater actor.


In his artworks, he tries to express his existence and entity by elictating what is graved from the childhood in his sentiment, his mind and emotional memory. It can be a realistic landscape and it may be in the shape of forms, colors and compositions.


But, in all cases his main goal is to make the viewer feel some- thing.

At Mazeej White, you’ll find two exhibitions; one at our lobby in which there are unique sculptures for sale and the other at our dedicated Art D’Egypte courtyard in which we will have several exhibitions during the summer.
